A MINUTE WITH NICKI: Handling Calls During a Crisis

During the coronavirus crisis, Dead Ringers Training Facilitator Nicki Wiedeman takes a moment to share some advice for handling business calls during stressful and unpredictable times.

3 Ways to Handle Calls During a Crisis

  • MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE AND HEADSET IS CLEAN. It’s a given—but prevent the spread of coronavirus by maintaining a clean workplace environment.

  • HAVE KEY TALKING POINTS FOR YOUR CALLERS. Be prepared to receive and navigate crisis-related questions, such as “Are your service options limited because of the crisis?” or “What is your staff doing to keep your customers safe?” Share your talking points with your staff so you’re all on the same page.

  • GOOD ETIQUETTE IS STILL A MUST. Be calm, appreciative, and empathetic to your callers during this trying time.
